I am so pleased to share our first review of Peter and The Starcatcher by Syracuse.com!
Below are some samples from the review, which you can read in full here:
"Director Colin Keating puts his winning cast through their paces. They perform every moment with gusto. Everything's in place: the set that can perform makeshift miracles, the well-performed songs with their winking shadings of Gilbert and Sullivan, and of course the jokes that zing by like baby drones. In the pursuit of hilarity, "Peter and the Starcatcher" throws in everything but the kitchen sink. (That's too heavy. "Starcatcher" only allows the lighter than air.)
The BTG ensemble is clearly having fun, and it is infectious, although occasionally, the verbal playground gets too crowded and we struggle to keep track of the action. ....
The wackadoodle doubling and tripling of roles in a jiffy are side-splitting visual jokes as the company becomes pirates, sailors, whimsical savages, and most hilariously, mermaids.
Lopez is winsome and strong as the precocious Molly. Clearly embodying the girl power that drives the show, she is firmly in control, and in a show driven by whimsy, never looks silly, even when speaking in with her father in a silly dodo language."
